Photographer's Note

The Eiger's North Face coming into view again after I came down from a ridge and looking for a trail sign. The trail taken was fading and not well marked. Photo taken while I was hiking the trail from Kleine Scheidegg to Lauterbrunnen through the mountain. There are two main trails going to Wengen (the mid point of walk). I chose the one recommended by Ira Spring in his "100 Hikes in the Alps" hand book. This trail moves away from the railway tract and has more of a diverse terrain & elevation. The other one follows the railway line but move downward all the way. However, the trail I took from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen was very steep, wet (from creeks & mists from waterfall), and dangerous. There was a warning sign at the trail head but after a few days of hiking the area I decided I could do it.

For more photos taken from this trail please go to my theme here. More photos to be added.
