We all are horrified seeing what happens in Ukraine. Not specially good photo from an Orthodox church but it expresses my feelings. Our prayers and thoughts are with the suffering Ukrainian people.
Taken in Mykolaiv (Ukrainian: Миколаїв, also known as Nikolayev (from Russian Николаев), a city in southern Ukraine, administrative center of the Mykolaiv Oblast.

Czesc Malgorzata,
rzeczywiscie bardzo pasujace do obecnych wydarzen zdjecie. Swietne wykonanie, znakomity pomysl, zeby moc zrobic to lepiej musialabys miec o wiele lepszy sprzet o wiele lepszy niz ja mam, wtedy latwiej byloby pozyc sie szumow przy nieskazitelnej ostrosci ale I tak godna podziwu jest jakosc ktora udalo Ci sie osiagnac.. Kobiety w typowych chustkach -widok juz chyba nie spotykany w Polsce choc pamietam ze moja babcia chodzila w chustce. Glowy pochylone, skupienie, zaduma no I oczywiscie swiece ktore wzmacniaja atmosphere.
Wspaniala praca I jak zwykle jestes bardzo na czasie.

Hello Malgo - I not only like your sentiment here but also the photograph. It is atmospheric and most appropriate and shows me a scene that I doubt I shall see with my own eyes. I note that all the people in this area are women, is it usual for the women to worship in an area set aside from their male counterparts? Warm regards Rosemary

Sad goings on in Ukraine, not helped by the entrenched views on both sides and external interference. I like this moody capture and like Rosemary I am intrigued to see all the worshippers are women.

Hello Malgo,
The situation in Ukraine is awful and we still don't know if there is an agreement today that will stop the massacres. I am not the praying kind of person but I sincerely sympathize with those Ukrainians who want their country to be more democratic and less corrupt.

Hello Malgo,
A picture that you will also be able to take in the churches in Georgia.
So many years after the events in Yugoslavia, we see that again terrible things are happening in Europe.
Eventually corruption and abuse of power will draw the short straw. So what's the use of so much violence and killing?
Some people seem to think that time has stood still in Ukraine and that the habitants would still not be aware of their abilities and their rights.
I really admire those people who brave the danger every day in their struggle for a fairer and more democratic society.
May there soon be a fair solution, Paul

Uważam, ze to zdjęcie wcale nie jest złe, ma nastrój, jest klimatyczne i bardzo pasujące do aktualnych wydarzeń, a wiem, ze w cerkwiach niechętnie pozwalają na zdjęcia, bardzo trafione zdjęcie

Hello Malgo,
what's happening in Ukraine is shocking and so sad. I've met many people from Ukraine in Greece and it's horrifying to think what their country and families are going through now. The same story of division and clash has been repeated in several countries around the words, some have managed to keep a precarious balance but others have entered a very dark phase. I hope the people of Ukraine and the foreign countries that have approached them will work for unity and peace and not for further division. Things don't look optimistic though. Thank you for this appropriate photo and homage.

Your photo in this Orthodox church is very moving and expresses your feelings very well.
As you say a difficult one with the light you had to work with and the respect you had to show the people praying but you have captured it with great warmth and feeling to these guys in troubled times.

This is very beautiful and touching photo of praying people. They look calm and focused but still they are nicely background as the candles take the main attention. How beautiful is the candlelight! Wow! Thanks for sharing this photo.

This is a lovely dedication to the people of Ukraine. Hopefully peace will soon shine like the flames of these candles. This golden candle holder is unique and lovely. I like it's prominent place in the foreground.

este país está ameaçado pela guerra mais uma vez, e parece que o risco se estende para o mundo todo.
o paraná é um abrigo para os ucranianos há séculos, minha cidade tem uma grande presença deles e mesmo hoje, quando fui ao médico numa cidade maior, tirei uma foto da igreja ucraniana de lá.
