Photographer's Note
This was taken at the World in Miniature in Cornwall. There are lots of famous landmarks in miniature. I thought the colours of the trees in the background made a nice frame.

Nice shot! Consider cropping the sky though - it's overexposed, and that lens flare distracts from the rest of your image ;-)

Agreed, definitely a case of less is more, great picture though, it reminds me of that hilarious scene in This is Spinal Tap, when the miniature monolith (due to an error in the drawings) slowly descended onto the stage.

Anne, what i miss in your photo's is an element of story. This photo also has a high 'well, this is it' feeling for me. Identification photo's for when the object is stolen ;) .Perhaps you had some feeling when you saw this stonehenge - try to show it. Or perhaps you liked some details - try to play with it. My thoughts, standing there next to this object, would be : " hey, funny object. How can I make a photo that adds something to what the maker did? How can i add an interesting element to this? " For example, what i liked about this stonehenge are the shadows ( like the pots photo). I posted a workshop example where i did a firm crop. True, most of the stonehenge is gone, and the photo isn't awfully better ( it needs some extra object to increase the tention, the setting is better, imho.) but compositional play is hopefully clear. ;)
But, hey, these are just my idea's , and if you prefer to make these kind of photo's, just ignore me - perhaps we're very different ;)

Hey Anne,
I think a polarizer would do wonders for your work. It would help to even out the exposure which is very contrasty here (much of your shot is very well lit and then you shoot in shadows). It will take the glare out of your shot, specifically that coming off of the grass. I would look to crop down to just above the stonehenge structure itself. It keeps the trees from competing with your subject and would eliminate that flare. Keep at it Anne.
