Photographer's Note
Runner descending beside Sourmilk Gill. Sourmilk Gill is the outflow from Easedale Tarn. Grasmere is glimpsed in the distance. The person in this image ran up this path to Easedale tarn, turned around and ran back down. When on his way up, my wife panicked and tried to give him room, lost her balance on the rocky ground, fell and twisted her ankle. Bruised for quite some time after. Not his fault. He had plenty of room. He stopped to help her up.
We ascended to Easedale tarn by a different route but descended along this path.
Easedale Tarn is a tarn in the centre of the English Lake District, about two miles west of the village of Grasmere. It lies in a hollow between Tarn Crag to the north and Blea Rigg to the south, about 910 feet or 280 metres above sea level. The hollow was formed by a small corrie glacier, and is believed to have filled with water around 11,000 years ago when the ice finished melting.
Easedale Tarn is one of the larger tarns in the district, about 480 metres long and 300 metres wide. Its outflow is Sourmilk Gill, named after the milky white colour of its waterfalls, which runs east towards Grasmere. The gill displays impressive water scenery when seen from Grasmere, and from the path to the tarn.
The tarn is a popular destination for walkers. Many people climb the path from Grasmere which overlooks Sourmilk Gill. The ascent was popular during the Victorian period, and a refreshment hut was even established in the 19th century by Robert Hayton of Grasmere above the outlet of the tarn to service the thirsty visitors. The hut is long gone, and nettles now grow where the ruins used to be.

Hello Trevor,
The rather dramatic sky sets the mood and contrasts well with the green landscape below. The runner is nicely placed in the frame and adds a splash of additional contrasting tone. Very good colours and clarity; excellent depth.

Howdy Trevor,
Fine view of the saturated green landscape of Easedale Tarn with Sourmilk Gill meandering through to the distant background. The rolling vegetation covered valley and mountains are attractive.
The rocky uneven path proves to be dangerous for runners and walkers. Hopefully your Wife will recover quickly.
Thanks for sharing,
Sincerely,
Ray

Hej Trevor,
Gert

Hello Trevor, fellow EM5 user.
Great landscape view with marvellous depth and all-important human figure in just the right spot, complete with bright t-shirt. Sorry to hear of your wife's fall. I presume you took this one before that misfortune. Very well done, with the very handy lens, which I also use from time to time.
Regards,
Andrew
