Photographer's Note

I took this in november 05 and i just keep coming back to it,i think its because of the contrast between dark and light ,The tiny village of Runswick bay nestles beside a cliff with its little cottages with pan tiled roofs, the scenery around is stunning and the houses are all huddled close to each other .There has been a few landslips here over the centuries and the road leading down to the village has many times slipped into the sea because of its steepness. The village is renowned for smuggling like Staithes.Nowadays its a place for artists and a lot of the cottages are holiday homes which i feel is a shame .
The day i took this it was awefull weather ,but in between showers the sun came out and highlighted the cliff top and brought a grin to my face . Enjoy
