i dont usually post pictures unless i think they can be of interest to people wanting to visit the area, but i had to put this one on. i was walking hame through pannett park in whitby a park left to the people of the town and has just had a recent face life following a £1 million grant from the lottery fund. The sunlight catching the snow covered trees looked stunning. The arched area in the background is the new memorial garden

Brrrr! Beautiful winter scene especially viewing it from warm Las Vegas. Great use of natural light to bring out the snow coated trees. Good pov and dof with sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Une autre magnifique photo d'hiver bien présentée dans un bel éclairage entre ombre et lumière. Le givre sur les arbres est de toute beauté et superbe contraste avec le beau ciel bleu.

Hello Adrian,

It is not the sort of image you expect from Whitby!
However, it is no less interesting!
You have taken a good diagonal composition and, I agree with you, the light, streaming between the trees, and highlighting the snow, is quite magical.
The line of bushes, with the bench, is nicely situated upon the thirds line.

I browsed your gallery and found the shot of Whitby steps! You're right, it's from a very similar place and with very similar information. Really spooky!

Hi Adrian,
The new park is all dressed up in a lovely blanket of fresh white.
The wet snow clinging to the trees looks very impressive in this strong light that renders peaceful shadows throughout the park.

Hello Adrian,

We get this year very early winter in Europe, and again are the weather reports very bad for next week.
I like this wonderful image with the hill and the trees middle in the snow.
Beautiful mountain landscape, real colors.
Excellent captured and composed, very well done, TFS.
