Photographer's Note
The first light of a beautiful summer day fills the sky over Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland.
Taken shortly before dawn, I had to get up early (very early!) in order to be in position before the sun climbed above the horizon.
A meter reading was taken from the sky, to record the castle as a silhouette, and filters included a polariser and 81b warm-up.
I intend to return at dawn some time during the winter months, to try a similar shot with the sun rising further to the south, behind the castle.

James
The dawn in London looks nothing like this. I'm pretty jealous. Nice colours and the silhoutte works well.
Nice one.

Very nice James,i like the way the overall sky colour is reflected on to the water and also the bottom right corner being dark leads ones eye into the scene giving it depth

Hi James,
Nice composition and colors.
Maybe it could be larger.

Very nice shot - the colours are superb. The reflection of the castle and many different colours makes for a very interesting shot.
It is probably the most dramatically located castle in the country.
Well done
