Photographer's Note
Another shot of Lindisfarne Castle. Further to yesterdays note I can also add that its rooms are filled with a fine collection of antique furniture, mostly oak, of English and Flemish origins dating back to the 17th century. These antiques make it a very picturesque home internally. The contents were given to the National Trust in 1944 by its last inhabitants, Sir Edward de Stein and his sister, Gladys.
Enjoy.

Bonjour Michael,
J'aime beaucoup la construction de cette image. La barque à l'avant plan offre de très belles textures en même temps que de la profondeur à l'ensemble.La colline et le château sont de toute beauté.
Amicalement

Hi Mike,
The upturned boat and coiled ropes are fantastically strong f/g images and set the scene for the sea-facing castle, high on the hill.
I love how the clouds create the effect that they are emanating from the castle, like smoke out of an old, Lancashire mill chimney!
As always, great composition.
Warm regards,
Bev :-)
Lindisfarne was on TV, yesterday. It gave a good description of the castle and its history.
Did you visit the walled garden at the rear?

Dear Michael,
If you will keep posting photos like this, I will have to fave all of them. :)
Again, it is a very well-composed image with a good perspectival view. The BW conversion is also fine.
Best Wishes,
Gy.

Hello Michael,
The overturned boat and the ropes make a superb foreground to the dramatic view of the castle. You were lucky to have these nice clouds which you apparently just had to improve very lightly to create a superb backdrop to the view. I can't imagine that the effect of this photo would had been the same in colours.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Michael, your shot has a 3 D quality on my screen.
What a beautiful variety of textures.
I agree with Beverley, the clouds do look like smoke from a mill chimney!
Excellent shot.
Regards Jean.

Hello Mike
Best of both worlds, the castle and the boats. You got both here. And then the sky is the third dog...

Hi Mike
good idea to include the ol boat in the fg, good to shake it up a bit right? and I like how the ropes are thrown around like somebody just doesn't care.
The vertical comp works well here because its easily fills up the entire frame, no wasted or dead spaces here.
I'd love to see this place in person, looks very photogenic.
excellent shot all around my friend
cheers

Hello Michael,
You had taken a simple view upon the castle and gave it a touch of art-work. marvelous graphic's cretaed by the ropes piles and the up-side-down boat, and in contrast the hill and fort built upon.
B&W format also contributed to its extraordinary texture. Nevertheless, I wish to see a colors version of the scene.
My best regards,
Ike

This certainly has a lot of drama with a very strong foreground interest connecting to the castle topped off by so majestic sky. Your mono version brings out the atmosphere within, yet another super capture of this enchanting location...

Hi Mike,
Old boat and ropes make perfect foreground theme on this maritime environment. This view also shows that rock where the famous castle is built clearly.
Black & White was a good choice.
