Photographer's Note
I am not sure if this belongs on this site as it was not taken during my travels. It is my first attempt at flowers and would appreciate comments. I used available light in my kitchen and used black card as the background. I used PS curves and clone to get rid of blemishes.

I tried my first "flower shot" two weeks ago, and it's more difficult than I first thought!
Though you miss some sharpness, your first attempt is very nice Christopher...

Very good first effort.
I'm not seeing the detail in the stamen that I'd like.
You might try this one again while suppling more light in order to use a higher f-stop, get more DOF.
Doing so will, of course, create more detail in the background lilly (which you might, or might not want).

The simple composition and minimal colors really makes this stand out. I would prefer if the flower in the foreground were a bit sharper though.

Nice composition. Flowers and nothing but the flowers. Sometimes less is more. I added this photo to my "Flora" theme.

Hi Christopher, Good image which has shallow DOF to throw more emphasis on the front subject. Good dark background and suitable frame. TFS. Murray.
