Photographer's Note

We had a brief (~30 minute) stop at Eilean Donan Castle on our way from the Isle of Skye back to the mainland. The water was low, but it revealed some interesting plants that varied in color between brown and a brilliant orange depending on whether or not the sun came out from behind the clouds. Particularly since Eilean Donan is one of the most photographed locations in all the UK, I wanted to try to avoid the standard cliché photos of this beautiful castle, and ended up stumbling across this view while walking around near the castle. I really like the different colors that came out in this photo and the sense of wandering out of the wilderness and into a castle. Hope you enjoy it!
