Photographer's Note
Last year we visited the Isle of Mull in Scotland. There were many photographic opportunities but these old ruined boats in the village of Salo were right by the side of the road as we made our way south touring round the island. It was impossible not to stop and take some shots and then later, on our return journey north we would stop again and take more as the weather, tide and light had altered the scene dramatically.
This image was taken in RAW and converted to Photoshop where the levels were tweaked. The shot was then sharpened and resized.

hi Joy,
I like the mood from this scenery, the old rosty boats, the rocks, some green... the past runs aground on this coast.
good reflection vision.

Great, I love the really strong divisions in the shot, the texture in the foreground.

Hello Joy,
What a fabulous photo opportunity - and you have certainly made the very most of this one!
Gorgeous light and lovely reflections on the still water as these two hulks moulder away beneath a lovely blue sky with fine fluffy clouds.
Your composition is excellent, the boats and their reflections placed perfectly in the frame. Lovely vibrant colours, perfect exposure and stunning sharpness.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.
P.S. You might be interested in this picture taken by Rosemary (Snap RJW) on a trip to Mull last year - if I'm right, I think those are the exact same boats!
P.P.S. I'm terribly sorry, but I'd forgotten that you were on TE as well as TL. Actually, I've been very bad and have almost completely neglected TL for the past year - ever since I had my first ever "meet up" with some other TE members a year ago in the Lakes. We had another meeting just last month in Shropshire and that was great too. Perhaps I need to have a look at TL now and again bcause I think I might be missing some good pictures - yours, Jean Dwyer's, etc.
And thank you for adding me to your "favourites here - I shall certainly reciprocate!
John.

Hi Joy
You where absolutly right to stop here. A great motive, well executed. The boats in itselfs make a wonderful subject but with the perfect reflection in the water and an interesting sky, this is a real eye catcher.

Good Morning Joy,
A delightful shot, full of deep, interesting textures.
A lovely composition threads the boats and their reflections through the centre of the frame with supporting thirds either side.
You feel you could reach out and touch that hull!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hello Joy,
a very well composed impression of the abandoned boats in a wonderful light. The colors are fantastic. It is the atmosphere of desolation that makes this image very attractive. My compliments!
Warm regards

Hello Joy,
A wonderfully rich and interesting photo with very sharp details and impressive reflections. You have captured the scene with a great feeling of depth and the wonderful balance including just the right amount of sky to counterbalance the interest in the subject.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Joy,
there is just something about old boats, isn't there? You have done a good job here of showing the textures of old wood and rust, Although I think I would have been tempted to go in closer to get the sharpness on the timbers. I like the reflections as they give dof.
