Photographer's Note

Every sunday there is a gathering of motorcyclists in a part of Plymouth called the Barbican, with large numbers of gleaming Harley Davidsons parked in rows. It is the fishing centre of the city where the local fishing boats dock, there used to be a fish market near here, but it is now a shop and a glass works, the fish market has move to the other side of the harbour. The Barbican area of Plymouth is where Plymouth first started as a settlement. From near here in 1620 the Pilgrim fathers set off for America on the Mayflower.
It was also home for famous sailors like Drake, Hawkins and Raleigh.
Captain Cook set off on his round the world voyages and it is the home of Plymouth Gin which is made close by.
In the picture is a group of motorcyclists enjoying the sunshine, talk of motorcycles and a bit to eat from the famous Captain Jaspers cafe.
