Photographer's Note

Autumn is on the way cool morning and the thisles are turning to down and will soon be filling the air with glinting balls of gossimer, and this female dragonfly is darkening as she ages from a lovely straw yellow to this olive and red.
Treatment of the pic are a crop, levels, slight increase in saturation + brightness and contrast. then an unsharpmask.
this is not my usual on the nusery almost tame one but a fully wild one carefully stalked and shot.

Amazing colours and textures. Congratulations! This is one time I wish TE would allow a much larger image. I want this in 24x30 inch! Great work Rob!

These dragonflies is great on pictures, beautiful creatures! I can't decide if I like the background or not, it's interesting though =).

Autumn's definitely here now, a little saddening to think it's going to get colder and darker from now on, but there are some marvellous photo opportunities to go with it, this is a smashing shot Rob, beautifully sharp, and showing how amazingly transparent the dragonfly wing is!

(just edited this for a spelling mistake and the smiley has vanished! sorry Rob, but it was a big one...)
