Photographer's Note

Another sunset over the Old Shoreham Toll Bridge the beautiful footbridge across the River Adur at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, England. The wooden structure was built across the tidal estuary in 1781 - prior to that people and animals were pulled from one side of the estuary to the other on a flat raft. The bridge carried road traffic right up until 1968; it then became a public bridleway - after years of neglect it was brought back to its former glory when it was re-furbished in 2008.

Excellent shot indeed: lovely depth thanks to the bridge leading the eye to the background. I love the way you framed the sun with the wooden oblongs of the bridge. Good contrast between the yellow and its reflections in the water and the clear sky in the upper part of the image.

Super shot Brian. I like the diminishing perspective on the bridge rails and the way each gap in the rail frames a "mini-scene". Wonderful sharpness and colour. Best wishes Rosemary

Not as spectacular as usually but a splendid simple compo with this long perspective of the bridge, the sun taken in a frame and this beautiful blue color throughout

Tu a le brio de transformer un classique coucher de soleil en une œuvre magnifique.

Très beau graphisme avec ces barrières en bois encore bleutées par le reflet du ciel encore assez clair.

Superbes différents bleus qui donnent une atmosphère paisible dans ce moment où le jour se meurt.

There are so many photos of yours that I wish I'd shot. And this is one in particular. Mostly because it breaks many of the "rules" and yet is a visually stunning photo. I love the perspective, the excellent exposition and the lovely soft colours of the sunset.
