Photographer's Note
A view out to sea of Eastbourne Pier in East Sussex, England. Lovingly painted in royal blue and white it was opened on the 13th June 1870, with a theatre and bar inside the Victorian tower, at the end, being added in 1899/1901. It is Grade II listed and was restored extensively in 2003.

Good Morning Brian - Love the saturated blue; it works so well on the railings which really pull me into the frame. The nice strong shadows add to the lines of perspective and the whole image has a wonderful symmetry and graphic appeal. The soft clouds make a fine contrast. Lovely shot. Warm regards rosemary

Hello Brian,
You chose the most classic angle but the most beautiful.
The handrail of the pier leads us to the background toward the of Eastbourne Pier building.
Lovely depth and perspective image.
Excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice new week,
John

Hi Brian,
a blue that hurts the eyes!
Not sure what filter is applied here but the blue of the reiling and the sign dominates this view drastically. Otherwise I think this a very well choosen POV with a perfect sky.TFS.

Hi dear Brian
Oh wow, this is fantastic. Love the low POV, the vertical frame and the impressive depth of field. The wide angle lens has really accentuated the perspective, but your most effective elements are the light management and sensational chromatic rendering. Wow, again, just lovely.
Have a beautiful day

Hi Brian

Wonderful symmetry and the rich blue of the railings is echoed in the equally rich sky. We are nicely drawn into the shot with those perfectly anchored rails and your usual signature sharpness and perfect choice of POV

hi brian,
the colours, lines and clarity in this picture all make this a very strong composition. the blue lead in lines are terrific. superb depth of field and sharpness. to top it all off, the white cloud formations appearing to rise from the roof of the central structure into the blue sky are incredible.
regards,
brian

Ciao Brian
Saluti

It is sometimes useful to date colour saturation. The picture is really transformed as the eye cannot detach from the bridge. Well done !

Ta série de photos sur cette jetée bleue est vraiment très réussie. Celle-ci en est un nouvel exemple où tout est réuni : composition, lumière et couleurs.

Good Morning Brian,
This is a 'study in blue'.
I love the way those vivid blue railings link with the blue sign and, eventually the blue sky.
The shadows are well captured, for they reveal the stepped nature of the pier.
A sharp, tight composition, perfectly suited to the vertical format.
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hi Brian
Super blues, saturated all the way up to the brim, just a tiny bit more and it would have been way too much. As it is, it works and really brings out the strict composition of the scene. Only the shadows 'distort' the parallellism of the pov. And shadows have a right to do that, haha!
Eastbourne always reminds me of that naughty Kevin Coyne song...
Enjoy your week.

again, the cloud coverage makes a difference in the overall sense, enhancing the scene well.

The symetry was mandatory in this case, and with the blue railings lead our eye to the tower in the background.
