Photographer's Note
Taken at Tintagel, the mythical place of the King Arthur's birth. 34 degrees Celsius made pleasant by the breeze. Unbelievable.
www.tintagelweb.co.uk
According to one legend the infant Arthur was thrown by the waves on the beach by Merlin's cave. King Arthur's time in history was in the fifth century. He is identified with the known history of a Celtic chieftain of the period who led his countrymen in the West in their resistance against Saxon invaders. Many believe that Arthur was of a mixed Roman and British parentage.
It is always difficult to prove if Arthur did exist but certainly there was a great warrior in the West of England who had some kind of fortress where Tintagel Castle, (King Arthur's Castle) is today. The original fortress has gone but archaeologists have found proof in their diggings on the Tintagel Castle, that fifth century citizens lived on the site. The replacement Castle was built between 1230-1236 & is now nearly 800 years old. Within two hundred years the Castle was in ruins & remains so to this day. Earl Richard of Cornwall paid for the construction of the Castle & it is owned by the Duke of Cornwall.
For many years it has been managed by English Heritage, who are the agents for the Duke.

Hello Romana,
This certainly looks like a magical place. The color of the water is amazing. I like the bit of rock included on the right side. It balances out a lovely composition. This water looks like something you might see in a tropical setting. It seems like there is even one tiny person on the small rock in the middle. Very nice! :-)

Wow Romana! Never in my wildest dreams would I expect to see colors like this in the oceans surrounding England. Beautiful! Colors and composition are very good but the one thing I would have done is to clone out the thin clouds in the upper right. My eyes were drawn to them too many times while looking at the photo. A very simple fix to an overall great scene.

One of the most romantic locations on the north Cornish coast Romana and one that never looses its mystique for me. Here we see it under unusually perfect weather conditions, the sea is so beautiful and all hint of the gales and waves that lash this location are hidden. A simple and beautifully balanced composition with the 3 areas of land nicely positioned within the frame. TFS and warm regards Rosemary

Hi again,
It is been awhile since I see you here. I'm not here as much as I want to either.
Jumping from our winter image to this one. Ah, I can loose all the heavy cloth now. The clear blue sky, the green sea water, the rock in the middle yes, a perfect spot for mermaid to perch up there and start singing longing for her prince charming.

Hi Romana,
wow this is so beautiful! I am speechless.
I would never guess it was taken in Britain. The colors are rather something what one could expect from a holiday destination in the south. Amazing color of the water ranging from green to dark blue on the horizon. The view is nicely framed with fragments of the coast. The tiny rocky island makes a nice contribution with the person standing on it. Good idea for the title. It is really encouraging to visit Cornwall.
Excellent work!

Hello Romana,
when I was visiting Cornwall few years ago unfortunately the weather was very disappointing. You were much more lucky than me as I see. Great light and excellent colors. The composition has been well planned.
Well done!
Best regards
