Photographer's Note
Few uploads ago I have presented here a photo of Tynemouth Priory (click here to see it). In the note underneath it I wrote that I liked the place so much that I intend to come back there again soon. I did it last Sunday and I have a feeling that it was not my last visit to Tynemouth.
Regarding the title: If you look at my previous photo from Tynemouth, and/or on the map, you will realize how amazing is the location of these charming ruins. I have found a POV from where you could include more of the sea in the background but then some ugly buildings are impossible to hide. In this photo the ugly modern buildings are not seen anymore but not much is left from the sea either, although you can spot it on both sides of the ruins.

Hello Mariusz,
For those who don't know the place, the ugly buildings aren't visible while the sea is at the extreme left and right and also through the windows of the ruins.
So even without the title, the first thing I thought looking at the picture was 'what a splendid location on that peninsula'.
You also enjoyed sunny weather. The warm stone colour looks wonderful between the blue sky and the green grassland.
I'm surprised that there aren't more visitors. This place looks most interesting.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Mariusz
in the previous photo you're talking about, we really do get to see the sense of dramatic impact with the beach and cliffs.
and you know how i feel about the colors of blue, green and yellow...it almost ALWAYS makes for a pleasing visual photograph...it just does.
too bad we can't take a time machine and see this place in its prime, especially with the location its at.
glad you went back here, and looking forward to your next shot...maybe at sunset?
cheers

Whenever I go back to Scotland, I take the ferry from Holland to New Castle.
I have seen this ruin from the boat, both sailing up the Tyne in the early morning, and sailing down the Tyne in the afternoon.
Thanks to this beautiful photo I now know what this ruin looks like on land.
Thanks for this lovely image, Mariusz.

HI Mariusz,
This is an amazing location, and I remember thinking WOW on the last upload you posted from here. Its a real treat to see this closer view of these wonderful old ruins, which the sun has lit to perfection for your capture. Nice job in hiding the new buildings too, this looks very old and not a hint of modern world to intrude on it.
cheers

Hi Mariusz
In the previous post the buildings dont look too ugly, but i can imagine that in a view of the ruins they would be a disturbance... so you did well to hide them.. I do the same sometimes to hide cars or electric poles and wires!
The low sun gave long shadows that maximize the wide angle lens effect.
Nice

Hello Mariusz,
personally I always enjoy a little bit more a picture that has no unwanted intrusions,so thank you for making the extra effort to find this fine view point at just the right time of day.
The warm light has illuminated most of the old ruins without causing loss of detail in the shadow areas.
With a fine perspective and excellent clarity it`s a fine photograph that`s a pleasure to view.
Best regards Les.

Hi Mariusz
This place and the ruins have fascinated me, i think of what it was like in its heyday and all the people over time that have used this place, what they would have been wearing, what they would be doing. I love the way you've given the timeless stones lots of headroom with equally wonderful green foreground. Love the subtle clarity, colour combination and the immaculate detail throughout. Of course the long shadows have increased the sense of depth greatly and this shot summed up perfectly, supported by an extremely informative and well written foreword which makes the whole piece real good indeed. Congrats
Best regards

Hola Mariusz, as I can t see the horrible modern buildings due to your clever POV, I enjoy the view of the ruins (like to see some sky across them), so close to the sea, a true attractive location
Like also the long shadows, late evening seems to be
Good work, regards

Hello Mariusz
The weather was kind, and it's enabled you to give us a lovely image of these famous ruins. Your very wide angle lens has interestingly exaggerated the perspective. This coastline, from Berwick south, well into Yorkshire, has a wealth of history and photogenic ruins to prove it. Have you been further north to Lindisfarne, for instance?
Kind regards
Will

Hello Mariusz
Indeed the ultra wide angle lens helps create a beauty! The warm light from the right enhances the bricks tones...the little bit of sea which peeps behind the Priory adds to the picture. Thanks to the link to your earlier picture which shows the place in another perspective.
Wish you and all your loved ones, especially the li'l one the very best for 2015
