Deserted Sports Village, a photo from North Yorkshire, England

Photographer's Note

Most of the winter we had a terrible weather. I made some sentimental travels browsing through my photo archives. I had so much hope for the arrival of springtime. Instead, the virus pandemic has arrived with surprising restrictions like the fact that I cannot walk to the spacious park across the street. My previous photo was the first one in the new challenge I undertook: trying to take photos from my house windows. Here a second one in this series. My house is surrounded by two spacious parks from the south and large sport complex from the north. Behind the sport complex there is the largest hospital in the area.

In this photo you can see a fragment of the Middlesbrough Sports Village. Quite modern spacious sport centre with numerous grounds for variety of sport disciplines. It is entirely closed now

A few sunset photos about today but this would be the best of them with its interesting layers of colour and detail.

The sky is beautiful, a wonderful mix of warm and cold colours alternated with those long horizontal and beautifully shaped clouds. Very well captured. Also the silhouettes of the trees are nicely seen and are very sharp.

Hello Mariusz,

You must be one of the few people posting a picture that is recent, rather than from an archive!
Just see what beauty there is in the sky!
This is like a quick browse through a paint colour chart, moving from the warm reds and oranges to the cool blues!
Well seen!

The parks have been closed near us, too, for obvious reasons; when people go for a walk, a park is an obvious place, so crowds could begin to congregate, families with children rushing to meet one another. It is for our own safety that communal places are closed and to reinforce the message of staying distant from others.

As we are confined, we need to find some tricks to spend time, and I think that you've found a new subject: seen from my window during coronavirus confinement. I am going to start a theme on this idea on TE.
Superb sky at sunset, with orange, pink and blue hues taking most of the space over the city environnement.

The neon light from the Sports Village gives us an alternative focal point.

The picture shows a wonderful range of colours in the sky: from orange over reddish purple and light blue to dark blue.
The elongated clouds from the left to the right border are beautiful elements of this great photo.

Here, parks are open but the facilities are closed. We are allowed to take walks. I love the colors in the sky. 👍🏻👍🏻

Mariusz, the clouds turns pink and the sky was orange that evening. The sport center lights are switched off, no group activities are allowed, the country is lock down due to the virus. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Everything is absolutely closed now, parks, gardens, cinemas, theaters, stadiums, bars, restaurants, it seems that life has stopped, how terrible everything is.
At least you have a wide view from the window of your house and you can contemplate the beauty of that sky at sunset.
Good image perspective, very pleasing to the eye.

a nice vertical view. I liked the layers of clouds and the colors of sunset mixed in a special way. nice details of the urban space bellow.
