Photographer's Note

This is my second photo from the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Ideally, I would prefer to show you a spectacular photo from each place I have a chance to visit. Unfortunately, it happens a lot that while I am in a very interesting place, the light is sub-optimal. In the end, I struggle with the decision, whether to show an interesting place in poor light or not at all. After my first trip to the Holy Island, I decided to wait. I was sure I will return there someday and hopefully will have a better weather next time. Indeed, I cannot complain about the weather this time, the temperature was very pleasant with some sunshine getting through, and it was a great day for a family walk around. However, the sky was so very boring. Nevertheless, this time I really wanted to share with you this amazing place, hence I share here less eye-catching photos.

The Holy Island itself is quite interesting because it is relatively far from the mainland and yet at the low tide there is a causeway which resurfaces from underwater. You can drive through it onto the island. I have experienced similar places before for example in Germany, but every time it feels unusual. In addition to the interesting nature, the island has a very long rich history. There are two historically very interesting spots to visit on the island. I have showed you already the Lindisfarne Castle, here:
In this photo you see a fragment of the Lindisfarne Priory.
