Photographer's Note

This is a Tiger Grouper from Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos Islands. I took this photo in 1996, when I did my 19th dive. It was the first time I was using a close up outfit addapted to my Nikonos V. This outfit should be used with a metalic frame to use attached ahead to the lens, just to know the focus distance and the framing limits on subject, because in fact the close up is an adapter lens on the 35mm. Slowly and carefully, Iīve got close to this quiet tiger grouper and, itīs incredible, but Iīve put itīs head inside that metal frame! This thin shadow is the frameīs shadow, because I was using the flash too much oppened on the arm-support in a wrong position behind the metalic frame. Of course that as soon as I took the picture, the grouper gone and I didnīt had a chance for a second photo. Well, I canīt kept my breath away for any extra time, anyway! I'm lucky the fish didnīt hitted my close up outfit gear...or didnīt ate it!
Missing the Turks & Caicos... Greetings!
