Photographer's Note
Despite having a reputation for inclement weather the west coast of Scotland has some beautiful scenery. The island of Treshnish in the Hebrides is the home of a colony of puffins. On the day of this visit the sea and sky were deep blue like a bay in the Carribean.

Hi,
I was just thinking about Treshnish today! Thanks for the reminder of it's beauty. Also the scene of a famous but ficticious shipwreck I think? This shows the clarity of the sea and the peaceful setting very well. Thanks.
Dougie.

Hi John,
Transluscent? It's an adjective that can only fit the water in the Isles, but how much it mends the weather! It's indeed an ebbing jewel you picked up from the shore. There's an incredible softness all over yourpicture, and the low-angle slightly bent horizon is not the smallest cause, I think. The blue bubble all around, forever...
Thanks, F'

hello John, this is an absolute delight. I don't think I have seen colours quite like this in Scotland before. But then, I live in the south and don't head north too often. I must!

It does have a very tropical look! I didn't realize global warming had gone that far ;>) . It must be very wide angle to curve the horizon--it works well. The boat is nicely placed and a good color accent. The distance could be a bit sharper, but it's a great shot. Regards, Ken.
