Photographer's Note
A Total Eclipse of the Moon: March 3rd 2007
Improved version in WORKSHOP
This is one of many shots tonight not sure if its the best yet as I am still shooting!! I found this subject rather tricky because at this magnification this is the slowest shutter speed I could use without causing motion blur.
Going for a ISO400 was not a option at totality and there is a certain amount of noise here although I will use a noise reduction program later. All is sharp at full resolution although the high ISO has stole a little detail.

Superbe Stephen,
j'ai admiré l'éclipse aussi, mais je n'étais pas prêt pour photographier.
Alors je profite des pros qui l'ont fait.
Bien à toi.
Daniel.

Hi Stephen,
Best of the moon shots I've seen this evening in terms of detail. Looks like a good lens and I'm surprised at the short exposure time at f8!

Hi
Is this infectious? Somebody posts a picture of the eclipse of the Moon and then 10 (or more) others do the same! Epidemic!
So far I like this one the most. The quality is suprisingly good and I can see a lot of details up there.
Nice job.
Take care

Hi Stephen,
Great shot! Everyone here seems to have captured the eclipse in their own special ways, which makes every photo special.

Hi Stephen,
Great catch of the Moon, I've also been busy taking a few photo's of this event. I love the placement of the Moon in the frame, and the border is just very fine, lovely presentation.
Indeed the sharpness is quite good, although harmed a bit by the noise, which is sad. Details are well visible and the moon is nice big in the frame..unlike in my version.
I like that, well done!

Hi Stephen, I think you have the best of the eclipse photos, That's a powerful lens you have! I like the way you have captured the detail, especially in the southern area with the crater Tycho clearly visible.
Best regards,
Paul.

hi Stephen,
Lovely tones .. just beautiful .. the way the spherical moon fits into this framing (in terms of size in addition to shape) is really interesting ..
wonderful image.

It's very nice...I was wondering the use you could do of that "Evostar 1200mm"...it surely should be a very hard lens to handle.
Of course the high ISO has some problems (you already mentioned it) but I think it's the best moon shot I've seen here...by far.

very good work stephen...
i tried too, but i didn't have good lens for that...
your right, the goal was to shoot, with a speed fast enough not to get the blur due to the slow speed..
well done for that, but you've lost a bit of those wonderful orange colors..
regards
