Photographer's Note
Not really ghosts. Obviously. Placed the camera on some marble thing to keep it steady whilst slowing the shutter speed to create a bit of blur of the people. British Museum again.

Hi Mark
Was that a valueable marble thing, or an exhibit! Nice feel to this shot, the play of the shadows of the roof, the blur of people coming and going, the lines of the stairs and stonework. Typical London, a backpacker, kids and a 'suit', all sharing a space.
all the best

Hi Mark
Superb picture. Again the British Museum and its impressive interior. You used very well the shutter speed to capture these people and the shadows. Great job!
Have a nice day!

A good idea and nice result. With one person fixed, the result would be more striking.

Bonjour Mark,
The picture is especially attractive because of the balanced repartition of the ghosts/people in this composition. Less is definately more here and very worth to be enjoyed!

Hi Mark,
of course I could comment on your choice to blur the people, it actually turned out quite good, but what's capturing my attention is the space you decided to photograph, all that white, the bricks, all the geometry coming down from the ceiling... it's really great.
No rotten attic for these ghosts - these guys lurk in stylish, designed places...

Mark,
The idea is great, and you made it perfectly !
Blur is pleasant, creating dynamics through these geometrics lines shapes.
Very nice, a picture I'd have love to shoot !

JB.

HI Mark,
This is a very beautiful image. Very well done with the slow shutter speed. 13 is slow enough to make moving blur. What also interests me is the graphic reflected inside, creating a very nice texture. A very well framed with great sharpness and beaitiful light.

Hi Mark,
Nice composition with three people moving one way and 1 the other. The emptyness, and the allover white color is very nice.
I wşsh you a great weekend. Best regards. Salvator.

Man, it's a pleasure for me to comment on good photos, to comment on photos of someone, who has a vision.
Is this picture good? Yes it is. It might not be telling a moving story, but it's one of the best British Museum pics I've ever seen. From a photographic point of view, the way you've captures the play of shadows, the whole geometry, light and those people is something that has to be appreciated and admired.
I went to British Museum in April. I took some wide angle shots but they're so crappy that I won't ever post them anywhere. And the solution was so simple :)) Place your camera on a piece of marble and wait for some interesting folks to come... Arghhhh... :)
What I like about those people is that they present different attitudes. You can read from their postures. The gentleman on right is strolling amiably, he's obviously interested in what's happening around, in the building etc. The boy in white strapped t-shirt, he doesn't look so interested. His head is down. He looks Asian to me, probably Korean. Two remaining characters are hard to read. The girl looks like frozen... she's going somewhere. She doesn't look interested but maybe she's in a hurry to check out the mummies... I can't tell...
All in all... it's a splendid photograph. I want more. You won't give me, I'll come to London, trace you down and force you to go out with you damn EOS 1D Mark II or anything else and shoot...
Best
Pawel

Hi Mark,
[thanks for stopping by, I can discover your photo]
We used to see lots of photo of this place with the same framing. This one is different and show the lighting design over this graphical place. Like the strips from the shirt echoing the the different lines: from the top roof, the ground and the wall.
Just a question:why f22, was it purposely to get a slower shutter spped ?
Thanks, Alain -

Great idea here Mark, the hint of movement blur adds a lot to the effectiveness of the image, and I like the positioning of the figures in the frame. It would have been good to have a bit of a gap between the guy on the left and the edge of the frame though.
I also think it wouldn't have worked nearly so well without the shadows - good stuff.
Cheers,
Ben

oh, this one is really good, this is so obvious to take such a photo while in the b.m. but nobody does it...well, not exactly nobody - there is one guy who dared...
simple yet most powerful image, mark,
best wishes, j.

Nice effect Mark, you kept the background nice and sharp and have just enough blur on the people without it being OTT. Great effect from the shadows off the roofing. Only thing missing is a few nice sheep - bet you're missing 'em down there in t'big city eh? ;-)
cheers
Leon
