Photographer's Note
A traditional Iranian and beautiful house in the old texture of Shiraz. A lonely woman sitting on the edge of the large pond in the middle of the house yard. Such ponds in the Iranian houses have various applications. They work as a water reservoire to supply the needed water of the residents for various purposes specially their daily ablutions. They work as a cooler to send fresh and humid air to the residential basements through the reticulated stone windows under the rooms, as seen in the photo. Gold fish are also a good part of life in these ponds and houses that breaks the loneliness of the people. It is nice, isn't it?
