The women living in the Iranian islands on the Persian Gulf wear characteristic masks. as you can see, they were very friendly, like everywhere the people of Iran.

Looks like what they sell is not very old - authentic souvenirs. Hard to tell how friendly she is. If they all dress the same, then true as you say, perhaps they are all just as friendly (or not). Her clothing is colored very interestingly. She has a strange backdrop behind her. Perhaps one of the cool looking bugs might make a gift for grandkids - maybe. TFS David

I can tell right away that I could not have taken this photo. It helps to be a woman traveller in countries like this, just like I know that female reporters usually have an advantage over male colleagues. The local men feel it's a matter of honour to be polite to foreign women, and the foreign women can go to places that are completely closed to their male colleagues.

Hello Malgo,

If you are going to wear a mask, this has to be the sort that you would choose ... that is of course, if you choose a mask at all!
You have shown us images and experiences that I know I will never see personally so I thank you for that.
It is a well composed, interesting shot.
Like Gert suggests, I'm sure that female tourists have an advantage over males when it comes to recording things photographically.

A good photo of the lady and her market stall, which has got a really wide variety of colourful items on offer. They stand out well from the darker background. Also the lighting was well handled.

Hello Malgo,
This is certainly an exaggeration to want to hide the female beauty. But under the mask I notice a sweet smile.
Regarding colours and motifs, her clothing is beautiful.
Is this island an interesting cultural destination in the huge Iran full of monuments and wonderful buildings? Or were you going there because of nature?
Or did you want to help defend the street of Hormouz against the threat of a distant world power?

Tego ci naprawde zazdroszcze, patrzylam na mape i te wyspy tesknym wzrokiem, ale oczywiscie nie mialam dosc czasu, zeby tam pojechac.
Super portret i kulturowe odniesienia jak rowniez kolorowe drobiazgi i wszystkie szczegoly, ktore mozna ogladac godzinami.

Seashells from an island at the street market are expected but who would want to buy crab shells? The masks in Iran are the exception rather than the rule. Good sharpness and the young lady has a winning smile. Superb sharpness and tight framing. Tfs!

An excellent photo. The saleslady seems to be camouflaged and indistinguishable from he merchandise. But I do notice the lipstick and a smile under all that covering. 👍🏻👍🏻
