Photographer's Note

A view of the village of Abnik. The high mountain in the background is Pirzankoloom (3850m). The name Abnik (Good water) comes from the fact that the main sources of Jajrood river are 2 springs close to this village (about 20 minutes from where I took this picture). Apparently about 80 years ago some German engineers took some samples of this water and tested them in the Lab, and rated the water as one of the best drinking waters. Then Reza shah (the king of Iran) changed the name of the village to Abnik.
