Citroen 2CV, a photo from Sharon, Central

Photographer's Note

Citroen 2CV, most probably an early 70th model at the old classic cars exhibition of "The Five Club", an Israeli old cars association, originating when there were license plates with only 5 number depicted (on my pictures I cloned out the license numbers – as most owners asked).

It was held in a parking lot near Ha'Ogen junction north-east of Netanya, 32.359, 34.908 on the map.
All vehicles participating were in good riding condition, drove to and from the place.

Picture converted from RAW, F9.0, 1/500, ISO100, cropped all sides.

Hello Ike,

You are my neighbour today!

I remember these Citroens!
They were the cars for young people, very basic, very cheap and had a a sort of club status! They had a similar arched shape to the VW Beetle but were much cheaper.
This is a fine shot and I like how you have given us an impression of the setting.

Hello Ike,
These cars are not seen often these days, but when I was young they were quite common, not least among poor students among my acquaintances. It's fun to see one again, but I'm surprised it's not surrounded by elderly people full of nostalgia.

A very popular car in Belgium when I was young.
It's been a long time since I saw one.
Here the car was often called the 'ugly duck'. But for flower power lovers, it was more than a car. It was a lifestyle.

Hello Ike,
Such an old iconic classic car ... this one.
I remembered driving one in Malaysia. I think it was Beetle , quite similar to this , a very old one. I just couldn't handle it :-)
Now, I wish I had one ( even better this Citroen 2CV ). Not to drive. Just to keep and admire the rare beauty of the 'unique' designed. I used to call them ... a 'frog' car :-)
I've fond memory of this car.
