My Intro to Israel, Day 2, Scene 2
This is the view looking south from the edge of Ein Gedi Nature Reserve Visitors' Center. The thatched roofs down in the valley are the Wadi David ticket office to the hiking trails of the Nature Reserve. The green area on the plateau across the valley is Ein Gedi Kibbutz. The body of water is the Dead Sea.
That morning, we took the first section of the Wadi David Hike (the lower section), a scenic hike from the Wadi David ticket office to Davids Waterfall. It was a pretty, circular walk which took about an hour to complete. The trail was well marked and setting out from the ticket office, we entered the wadi. A wadi is a dry river bed in the desert, although here, due to the David Spring, there was water flowing. The contrast that the wadi provides in its lush green landscape, compared to the surrounding desert is the first astonishing thing we noticed. We soon reached the Davids Waterfall and the pools in which people got wet. At this point, we turned back to the start rather than continue onto the second section of the hike, which would take three to four hours.
The reference to David is because King David hid in the desert of Ein Gedi (1 Samuel 24:1-2) and King Saul sought him "even upon the most craggy rocks, which are accessible only to wild goats" (1 Samuel 24:3).
Ein Gedi - Güneye Görünüm
İsraile Önsözüm, Gün 2, Sahne 2
Bu Ein Gedi Doğa Koruması Ziyaretçi Merkezi kenarından güneye bakan görünümüdür. Vadide aşağıdaki sazdan çatılar Doğa Koruması yürüyüş parkurlarının Wadi Davud bilet ofisidir. Vadinin öbür tarafında plato üzerinde yeşil alan Ein Gedi Kibbutzudur. Su kütlesi Ölü Denizdir.
O sabah, biz Wadi Davud yürüyüşünün ilk bölümünü ('alt bölümü'), Wadi Davud bilet ofisinden Davud'un Şelalesi'ne manzaralı bir yürüyüşü, yaptık. Tamamlanması yaklaşık bir saat süren güzel, dairesel bir yürüyüş oldu. Parkur iyi işaretlenmişti ve bilet ofisinden yola çıkarak, biz wadiye girdik. Bir wadi çölde bir kuru nehir yatağıdır fakat burada Davud Pınarı nedeniyle akan su vardı. Wadinin yemyeşil manzarasında çevredeki çöle karşılaştırıldığında sağladığı kontrast, bizim fark ettiğimiz ilk şaşırtıcı şeydi. Biz yakında Davud'un Şelalesi ve insanların içine girdikleri göletlere ulaştık. Bu noktada, biz 3-4 saat alacak ikinci bölüm yürüyüşüne devam etmek yerine geri döndük.
Davud'a ima şu yüzdendir: Kral Davud Ein Gedide çölde saklanmış (1 Samuel 24:1-2) ve Kral Saul onu "hatta sadece yaban keçilerin erişilebildiği en sarp kayalar üzerinde" aramıştı (1 Samuel 24:3).

Hi, Murat,
Sure, you like these emotions when you come in to the Dead Sea and you don't to move easy in this concentrated salt water. This is very familiar landscape for me, but we were in November and this place did not have so green oasises. Excellent colors, fine DoF!

Hello Murat, Splendid view of the oasis in En Gedi and the shore of Dead Sea. Already here we can see the salt. Lovely regular orchards and I like also this curvy road. Splendid panorama.
So you went with the organized tour? I was also with organized tour in Israel and after that I decided never to go again, since then I organize (almost) all my trip my myself.
Warm regrads MAlgo

Hello Murat,
Beautiful view above the known reservation, palm trees and blue color of the Dead-sea. Morning light enhanced the desert contour lines of the mountains and valley.
The contrast of diff. colors is absolutely impressive, a clear day picure.
Best regards,
Ike

Hello Murat,
you are offering us a great opportunity to admire and study this vast view and its unique character. I like very much the smooth contrast of the sky and the way our eyes gradually immerse in the many interesting details of the landscape. You added good depth with the foreground and also gave a good description of the area's textures. The sunshine is brilliant and the view very clear and uninterrupted. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania

Hi Murat,
Here I am again, seemingly in the desert...that all too familiar landscape. :) Seriously though, it's amazing just how similar this is...although I'm missing a large body of water. A super vantage point to look out over the land, and this "scattered oasis." I love how this all comes together...kind of the earth, sand and sea type of combo. This must have been quite an enjoyable hike, with scenic vistas and natural beauty all around. Speaking of combo's, nature + camera = very nice pictures. :) Have a good one. Take it easy.
Friendly wishes,
Jason

Hi Murat
Dry, arid and somewhat desolate it may appear but it does have its own kind of beauty. Lovely depth of colour in particular blue sky & water and green have soothingly counter balance the light intensity and tones while still keeping the feel that you captured so well. Excellent capture
P/s Tx for the much infor.
Best regards
