"End of the world... turn left", a photo from Beer Sheva, Southern

Photographer's Note

"End of the world… a left turn"
This was a title of a cinema movie shot in the town of Yeruham years ago.

A one day ride, went early Saturday morning to the northern part of the Negev desert in the south of Israel, a town located at 30.9885, 34.9245 on the map (indicated at the spot took those photos), which its 2015 population were 10,000 people. In recent years the place evolved to an oasis. This was after many years of neglection, unemployment due to lack of businesses and distance from the country center (150km+/- from Tel-Aviv, 50km+/- from Be'er-Sheva).

The highlight of the trip was a stop-over at the Yeruham-Crater, 4km east of the town center and an artificial lake to the west. Pictures yet to be posted.

A nice view over the low houses of the town in between the green trees in the foreground and the smooth and naked hill slopes in the distance. Well captured in a fine light.

You seem to have had an interesting day trip. This is a fine view of the small town surrounded by trees in the desert. Both WS are informative complements but beyond any doubt this is the most attractive composition. It's a nicely structured photo with a good balance and a pleasant light.

Hi Ike,

The composition is well divided, the sky the hills or montains and the town. The point of view is showing the details of the trees anf of the buildings. The light is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
This looks like a very modern town. It's surrounded by trees but the green belt is not very wide.
The arid mountain slopes of the Negev provide an impressive backdrop.
I'm curious about the artificial lake that does not dry out in the desert, but even more curious about the crater.

Green trees really make a difference with desert hills in the background. This has certain on the edge of nowhere feeling. And still this town isn't exactly small. Good viewpoint. I like that path on the lower left.

How good that you were able to enjoy a day away from home and to investigate this site.
I understand why it was termed an oasis for your fine thirds composition reveals lots of greenery but within the bounds of what looks like quite an arid location.

Your workshops show a neat orderly town and a very dry, arid landscape, where the road stands out singularly sharply!

The soft light works well for you here and pastel colours fade across the city into the mountains, I think a panorama format would have worked here also.

Some magnificent photos of this city that seems very new, located in the oasis have wooded part that will refresh it, because as we can see in the image the desert is at its doors.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and the magnificent composition; they are all perfectly realized factors, in this stupendous images.
