Photographer's Note
Hope this is not too boring, but wanted to show once more pictures from the desert oasis near Yertuham, to conclude this subject.
Dry reed and branches animate the lake scenery, also providing raw material for bird's nests.
The Yeruham lake is a men-made reservoir, a dam constructed in the late 1950s in order to utilize the floodwaters of Revivim creek for irrigation. Since its located in the Negev desert it is possible to visit all year round, though summer might be too hot environment.
(Info. from an official site).
General location at 30.988, 34.898 on the map.
RAW, F9.0, 1/400, ISO100, spot.

Hello again;-)
I still find it a bit strange to see the lake side by side with the desert, only separated from it by a screen of reeds and bushes. But this gave you a lot of photo opportunities, and the dry branches provided some variation to the theme.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Ike I have the impression of slowly kayaking through the branches in the middle of a mirage, as in a legendary optical illusion caused by intense heat occurring in the arid landscapes! You pay an important tribute to engineers who elaborated this topic for a greener planet.

Hello Ike, branches of trees are an unexpected sight adjacent to a desert!
I like this view with the rounded shapes of the desert in the background. It looks great in the enlarged version.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ike,
The wideness of the lake is cretaing depth. The point of view is showing the details of the reeds and of the hills in the background. The light is giving good colors output. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
A very good landscape photo with the water and branches in front of the empty field and the nicely shaped hills. Well captured with fine natural colours.

Hi ike,
Nice nature with this wilderness landscape, well framed and perfect sharponess, I see birds, tiny on your view but maybe interesting to photograph with zoom to get a photogenic close-up ...

Hello Ike,
I like both photographs but this one especially for the way the reeds seem to take on a life force! Their spindly appearance looks like spiders' legs!
They also remind me of a book that I have read to my grandchildren about a family of sticks! I think it is called Mr. Stick!
This is definitely a very different environment to the surrounding, arid desert.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)
So sad to learn about the people who have been crushed to death in Israel. I hope none belonged to your family.

Hi Ike,
I actually like very much the desert landscapes. The composition is great although maybe the light could be slightly better. I think deserts look best in the evening or morning but during the day light is so strong the the colors get washed out. Sadly of course you cannot be everywhere in an optimal time of the day.
Very well done,
M

Hello Ike
Missed this one. Quite a stark contrast between the arid apparently lifeless desert in the bg, and the greenery surrounding the reservoir. Even a bird or two perched on the branches or swimming around. Good sharpness and pastel colours. Tfs!

Hello Ike,
It looks like there is another oasis on the other side of the little hill, or is it another part of the same lake?
Regards,
MT
