Photographer's Note
This shot was taken late in the afternoon, facing east. This woman entered the ruins of a famous restaurant that overlooks the northern part of the Dead sea...Exposure metering was locked on the highlighted background.
Scan from a film print (Kodak ISO 200) with post-processing: contrast/brightness and unsharp masking adjustment that fit the original print.

This edition is a negative scan product (unlike the first, which was a print scanned on a table-top scanner), thus captured with superior quality. In addition, I have increased the contrast and shrpen the picture.

Hi Chen,
This is better IMO than the first posting. Clarity is better, and colors too. I like that black silhouette against the really bright landscape. Good framing too. I like the fact that the shadow is dark. Sometimes, I find that we try too much to open up those shadows. I like it that way. Great job!
