Photographer's Note
A brief intermission from my Italia pictures:
The western outskirts of Jerusalem at about 800m above sea-level, 64km from Tel-Aviv.
Route no.1 climb up to Israel's capital, here on the lower part on scene.
Taken last Saturday afternoon, from a mountain lookout point in Mevaseret, a satellite suburb on the way.
The big cemetery in pic. occupy the whole "Mountain–of-rest" and considered to be largest in Israel.
Raw converted to JPEG, a 16:9 aspect ratio.
I did try to add saturation - but that would not show the natural light and colors prevailed at time taken.

Hi Ike !!
I am so glad that you are showing this view of Jerusalem.
Everything that I had seen before ( wallpapers, etc ) is nothing like this.
A very large metropolis with a few towers under construction.
Very nice panoramic image.
Cheers

Hi Ike,
The point of view is sending my eyes toward the buildings which is giving depth to the composition. It is also showing the details and colors of the cemetery and of the buildings. The late afternoon light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello IKE.
Very nice view that shows these wooded slopes that rise from the level of the highway to the top, with modern buildings in the city on the horizon.
Very good light and detail in the big picture.

Hi Ike, you have nit a long way to Jerusalem from TelAviv. Amazing view. I remember Jerusalem as an old town and here it looks modern. The cemetery seems very big and strange terraces. I prefer the view from Mount Olive - but this one is not so bad :).
Warm regards

Many thanks Ike
Lovely cityscape sitting on mountain top wich wide spread matches perfectly the long partallel black road down below.
I have an impression of intense heat convied by the muted colors of sky and those of the naked cemetery "flowing down" on hill side!
This city looks beautiful.
Shalom.

Hello Ike, a good photo to show the reality of Jerusalem today, as some like myself have in mind the Jerusalem of Hollywood movies about the Bible, a good job very well done, congratulations for that. Good afternoon and happy weekend.
Warm regards.

Hi Ike!
It's a good and unusual pov to show the modern Jerusalem! This must be a really interesting city. I have just noticed you haven't any posts of the old city yet. Good idea to show this part also!

Hello Ike,
I love the 16:9 proportion of the image. Beautiful landscape, and unified color rendition. The distant view and FG work in harmony. I would love to see this photo on a large screen. Inclusion of a tiny FG in right hand corner is very effective. This is my first view over this part of the world. Thank you Ike.
With my very best wishes,
Have a great day,
Nobu.

Hi Ike,
I would never guess it is Jerusalem!
Somehow in my mind it is an old and traditional city and here we have such a modern view.
Great capture showing less know image of the capital city.
I know what you mean talking about the saturation.
I think sometimes the colors are recorded in particular way in the camera and correction does not work anymore.
I think it may be just the type of light, may be too harsh, camera is sometimes recording assuming wrong temperature or something like that.
Nevertheless very interesting pic,
M

Hello Ike,
This is so different from my impressions of Jerusalem!
I imagine something Biblical, yet this is a very modern city, with motorways, skyscrapers and multi-storied buildings, sharply captured for us to study.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ike,
Missed this one. Looks similar to the view from the Garden of Gethsemane lookout, although the freeway is an addition. Good sharpness and natural looking colours. Tfs!
