When I was on my way home I saw those sheeps and their shepherd and all around them flew those herons, once a while they were lending and standing on the sheeps, it was very nice scene and I used it to take some picture, with the permission of the shepherd ofcourse :-)

this is a very sharp focus both in the subject and the DOF! ;-) superb colors of brownish/beige tones. your tight crop enhance the impact of your shot IMO; Bravo Elroyie!

Bird on sheep, what an extraordinary combination, well spotted ;-))
Two small things you might consider trying, if you get the chance of a retake:
1. the bird is very white, so you get the danger of over-exposure. If you stop down 1/3 on exposure, you'll probably get more detail in the birds feathers.
2. Wait for the bird to move a little, so the light falls on the eye, too.
Apart from those small things this is a brilliant pic ;-)

What a great bird shot. Very beautiful bird – but the original background with nice tones and repetition makes this shot so unique. Also technically excellent shot of very difficult WHITE bird.
I find the upper right corner a bit distracting so I would frame this image tighter – I posted a WS...
Excellent work in any case, Elroyie – one of my favorites...

Very nice shot David. I like the way you chose to frame it, and the textures are excellent. It would have been nice to see at least one whole sheep, but it's good as is as well.

A great shot, advid. You composed well well with a very tight crop and excellnet position of the heron. The wooly textues of the sheep makes a nice background. Beautiful.

amazing :) from the thumbnail, I thought the heron was on rocks..you pictured a very interesting happening for me..and it is sharp (very much for a white bird)..thanks..

Hi Elroyie, Great catch, The colors of the sheep match well with the bird. Great moment, too. Maybe it's good to wait, but they are so inpredictable. I like Olli's WS also.

WOW - Then I saw the small picture I thougt it was rock's the bird was tanding one.

This is a lot better, vell seen and capture, it make the photo very speciel and great.
Good light and color in the pic., I have seen the workshop, but do think the oerginal composition is the best.

If it was me, I would only have crop a bit of the top, just under the straw in upper right.

This has to be a rare sight in Israel. What an odd and intriguing background those sheep present to this bird. Well positioned bird, very unique shot.

I like the orange hair on the head of the bird. She's top, no_1. She doesn't care and she's not even afraid, but the sheeps are cool too. They used to it.
Cheerful photo. Makes me laugh.
