Photographer's Note
A drive through the Negev desert to Eilat, the southern city of Israel. I took the longer way, which is more interesting, through a beautiful desert landscape. No trees, no shades, 200 km of empty, wild desert. And then I found these cable wheels, with nothing else around.
I'll post also a b/w version, but I think the color one is better. What do you say?

Wow! This is a stunner Yitzhak. What an eye you have for possibilities. Great vision, wonderful capture and perfect compostion. And I vote for color, not having seen the black and white. The delicacy of the spools against the barren yet beautiful hills, the repeating forms of the spools with radiating spokes, each trailing cable, the shadows cast by the spools. This is a delight to the eye Yitzak. Very well done!

j'aime beaucoup la version noir et blanc qui me rappelle les anciens films avec très peu de nuances de gris. Le symbolisme de la photo couleur est différent. Pour une fois ma préférence va au N&B. Très belle capture !

I have to confess this photograph pleases much more than the last industrial ones you have posted previously. It has something to do with shapes I guess.
I've been posting myself straight lines. Vertical and horizontal. And you come up with these circles and, although there's nothing special about them, they are striking for me. Guess what? I won't even try to understand that.

They look great just like that: in the middle of nowhere, Yitzhak! ;-) Wonderful abstractness out of natural and technical forms together. I like the colourful version better, for I find the colours to brighten it up and to bring a special atmosphere to your shot. Very good angle of taking and a very successful framing too. Excellent job!

Good composition. It's really an artistic picture. The wheels are thin and the desert in the bacground have a very good effect.
Well done Yitzhak.

Great frame and very good composition, I think that the W/B version is better.

Lovely in a sense of composition, perspective and even metaphorically.
These wheels have instantly reminded me of a huge industrial fans which would be most than appreciated in this dessert heat.
Or they can be seen as a film rolls... so many possibilities!
And these colours... anyway, it IS a strange object in this type of landscape (at least for me!).
Very good, Yitzhak!

Excellent one Yitzhak, I like these lonely circles and your tight crop here. I would have tried a larger view to emphasis the emptyness of the surroundings, but it is really excellent as it is. And yes, on this one I definitely prefer the colour version. I really like the desert colour here. Nice catch.

I find the composition powerful, the picture is incroyabe, angle chooses, the position of the rollers and the color, beautiful work.

This is great. I like the repetition of the round shapes, and the way the cables all lead to the right. Great composition.

What an amazing sight, Yitzhak, these cable wheels in the middle of nowhere definitely have a surreal quality to them. I like the color version of this a lot, and your cropping as well as the smooth look and colors this has are impeccable. I think this ranks high among your best work, just for the sheer strangeness of the setting.

Hi Yitzhak, they give such an old impression, as if they were wagonwheels, the graphism is very strong, and the colours of the field and the desert behind it, are very nice. But I like the B&W version best. ;-)

This one is very nice, one of the best shots along this style. The format is good and the framing is unobtrusive. The patterns are excellent, and the colors very distinct. I like this picture a lot.

A great shot again, Yitzhak. I is strange to find that in a desert, wires connected to nowhere. I like BW but I think the color version will be more attractive because of the warm colors. 2pts 2morrow

Very interesting capture of the pipeline wheels - whatever mission they have in the middle of the desert..
I prefer the colour version for all the details, but maybe the BW is better as a piece of graph. art..

What a luck to have found these wheels in a desert, and dark too which makes a very good contrast on this beautiful sand. There is also this contrast of cold metal against warm sand. Very nice. I wonder if it's not too centered however in the frame, have you tried to leave a little more sky to place the wheels lower in a square frame ?

This one is very nice... 3 empty wheels in the desert... with a nice blue sky. That again a great composition from you, Yitzhak!

Although the BW version is very good (I like very much the way you work the BW because it gets very intense) I prefer this version because the colors are very captivating.
You see the desert probably almost everyday day but for those that don't a desert around this colors and textures are very appealing!
Very good composition and POV.

This is very cool Yitzhak! I love the colours and the simplicity of the composition. I'm not too fond of the heavy border though, it seems distracting.

Hello Yizthak,
I know I missed this picture sent last year, but again you have touched a sensitive place of my taste.. I really enjoy this kind of pictures. Exactly what I wanted, with the centers of the wheels which are not parted by the horizon line.. Hurrah !
