Photographer's Note

For those that wondered if there were beaches along the shores of the Dead Sea, here is a shot of one of the 1/2 dozen resort beaches tightly clustered near the north east corner of the lake. The bottom is sandy but it is hard to push your feet down to reach it once you get to waist level on account of the high salt content of 34%. I noticed a lot of other Dead Sea photos are under Amman, which is a separate province to Madaba. There is no plant or animal life in the water apart from microbes that survive on the sea floor near freshwater springs. The taste of the water is so vile that nobody would try to swallow it. If swallowed accidentally, it would cause your larynx to expand and choke you. More info here:
