Photographer's Note

A haunting corridor inside the now abandoned Old Amiri Hospital in Kuwait city. This is a lovely old building that has been neglected since the departure of the Iraqis following the Gulf War. The long windows look out into a courtyard which were utilised to keep buildings cool in the days when air conditioning was not common, and they were surprisingly effective.

Hi Simon, the photo fits the story perfectly. The perspective and lighting are strong. I just feel the mood of the photo would be more threatening in B&W. So I did a quick workshop. Please let me know what you think. Stephen

Reminds me of a good many scenes left over from the 1990-91 invasion I saw during my year in Kuwait.

I like the composition here, good use of leading lines. The file uploaded looks like it could use some sharpening.
