Photographer's Note
Once I looked at my Syria photos, here another one. I remember well the narrow street in the old Damascus. There was a shop with the fresh bread and I saw these children. When I read about the war there, this image comes to my mind. What is their life? The maybe dead or could lost their families of friends. How world can be so cruel.
Before the start of the civil war in March 2011, Syria was a middle-income country that was able to adequately provide for its people. The continuing crisis in Syria has left over 470,000 people dead (Syrian Center for Policy Research, 2016), including over 12,000 children, and over 7.6 million internally displaced. UNICEF estimates that 8.4 million children are affected by the conflict either in Syria or as refugees. Moreover, 6 million Syrian children are in need of humanitarian aid, and more than 2 million do not have access to it as they live in areas difficult to reach or under siege.
other double portrait of Damascus kids.

Hi Malgo,i'm not sure but maybe you were the last TE member to visit Syria before the disaster. I been there me too but many years before. These 2 pics showing us young childs are a symbol of hope, but for the moment the situation is still bad, waiting some decision from the great men of the world,i hope soon. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

Hello Malgo,
Photos like these two make me happy and sad at the same time. Happy to see children being safe, well dressed and with enough food, so very sad thinking of how their lives have been ruined by men greedy for power and caring very little for the civilian population. There are so many political and military leaders who should face the International criminal court for what they have done to destroy Syria, but those really responsible will never be punished.
But these are both lovely photos (although the mirrored face of a man disturbs me slightly).
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo,
A sad tale accompanied by a charming yet poignant composition. A fine capture of this pair of happy kids whose childhood has since been turned up side down by a pointless war. The man peering through the window is an eerie addition, perhaps a portent of things to come.

Dear Malgo,
What a candid shot and what eyes. I hope they are okay. The mirrored face what Gert noted can be interpreted as the sign of the sad future.
Best Wishes,

Hello Malgo,
both of your pictures are lovely, they may have looked simple daily life scenes at the time they were captured but they should be treasured now as reminders of a peaceful and comfortable way of life that is now lost in the cruelest ways. The children's ease and their natural response to your lens are precious, the colours are heart-warming too. The dim face looking at them through the reflection is a remarkable feature of the scene. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a good night,
Ourania

Witaj Malgo!
I want to see them again - back home in a peaceful and reconstructed Syria.
I dont want to see syrian doctors or butchers work here in Germany: they should be able to do their work in their home country.
But as long as this is not possible, we should enable them to earn their lives here in safety.
And as Gert Holmertz said: the mirrored face seems to represent a writing on the wall.
Without offending you, I don't give points for your masterpiece. The thing is far too serious.

Ciao Malgo
le tue foto sono molto belle, ma fanno molto male.
Mi sento così inutile quando penso a queste situazioni, come è possibile tutto questo?
Non capisco, non l'ho mai capito e mai lo capirò.
Saluti

Witaj MAlgo,
nice the portrait of the two innocent children during their eating the fresh pieces of bread. Unfortunately the country you saw before the civil war begin,we never seen again.

Hello Malgo,
A photo from Syria taken not long before the start of the civil war does indeed raise many questions about these two children. We can only hope that they are safe and are still able to live a relatively normal life. This double portrait is excellent.

Good morning,
A fine common scene. Yes, Siria was a decent country, a lot of Romanians worked there during the Communist era, building their oil industry from zero. What happens now, beats any logic.

Hello Malgo,
It is sad to look at these photos. I, too, wonder whatever happened to these children and their families. I certainly hope they survived without having to become refugees. I love the expressions on the children's faces. The boy is pensive and the girl is both curious and friendly. I also like the colors in the WS photo.
Regards,
MT
