Photographer's Note

The Golden Horn is a long and narrow bay separating the older and the newer parts of the European zone of Istanbul and entering into the Bosphorus at its very southern point next to the beginning of the Sea of Marmara. One of the most distinctive features of the cityscape there you can see on the pictire is the Galata Tower, built before the Turkish conquest by the Genoese and since than used as fortification, prison, a place for the fire brigade watch...and now it is a traditional restaurant, famous with its belly dance program...
