Photographer's Note
Here is another old Istanbul( If not vintage ) picture, a slide taken 23 years ago. The color comes from an orange filter adapted on the lens while the blur on the mosque comes from the DOF of a mirror lens, the 500 mm Leica Lens. There's absolutely no computer work on this one. I am not sure that I can find the place from which I had taken it so long ago. The sitting man ? Even less ! He was quite old at the time.

Wonderful image! The colour of the photo is very attention grabbing, and the silhoette of the man is very vivid. When combined with the faded and blurred profile of the mosque in the distance this has a classic or timeless appeal. Excellent!

Thanks for showing us this timeless classic, Izzet. A very effective use of the foreground silhouettes (even only as an outline, it seems to be clear that it is an old man) and a fine compositional balance with the mosque spires on the right. Good ambience provided by the orange filter, very nice shot.

Hi Izzet.
This one is great. This light, this composition,... and all natural.
Sure, one of the best photos, if not the best, that I've lately in TE.
Why did you have 26 years hidden this photo?

Cool shot Izzet, and even more impressive is the fact that no computer work has been done on it. Silhouette is great, as well as the colour.

Merhaba Izzet,
This shot is so wonderful I'm not sure where to start. It evokes such a mood in the viewer and is full of romance (of the exotic for the outsider), or of home (for those from Turkey). Thanks for dusting it off and posting it.
Cheers

Selam Ustam,

This is a fantastic composition, Izzet!!
The silhoette, the yellow background and the two minarets at the BG - all make it so interesting, so attractive, so beautiful..
This is a great image, Izzet, captured and composed very skillfully.

Hi Izzet,
You did a superb job of restoring this slide to digital with your scanner. The silhouetted man and bench with the mosque seen through the gloom is most impressive. It is unfortunate that there are some technical issues in the right foreground, but overall the photo is surreal and outstanding. Well done.

What's there to say about this image? I mean, compositionally and visually, it is wonderful. The posture of the man is great and the Mosque which seems to be in his lione of sight is perfect.
