Lake Van is the largest inland lake in Turkey, located west of the city of Van and near the borders of Iran. In the northwestern part of the lake, Mount Sobhan (in Turkish: Süphan) at an altitude of 4,058 meters and in the southern part, the mountains of Ekhtar Shahab (in Turkish: Ihtiyar Şahap) are located. The formation of the Van Salt Lake has been the result of volcanic activity for many years. Its water is supplied from streams that flow from the mountains. The lake is 120 km long, 80 km wide, and its average depth is 171 meters (the deepest part is 451 meters). The area of the bath is 3,755 square kilometers. The Holy Cross Church, located on Akhtamar Island, is one of the tourist attractions of this lake. The bath has sandy beaches and is reached by a network of roads. Hello Ali,
This is a good composition with the striking red Turkish flag creating a fine balance to the impressive mountain. Looking at a larger version I also discovered the seagull to the left. The panoramic shape was well chosen.

Hi Ali,
Great scene, I like very much the giant mountain in the distance. The flag also adds a nice touch and some color. These two motifs well balance each other.
The weather was fantastic, it was a very fruitful photographically trip.

Hello Ali,

The full size photograph adds pleasing details which are not obvious on the thumbnail. Full size, the flapping, Turkish flag becomes very nicely balanced by the high, snow-covered mountains, looking silvery and hazy beneath the cornflower blue sky.
The strong ground colours, in the f/g, and the hazy colours in the b/g, help to create an excellent sense of depth.

Hello Ali,
Travelling to Lake Van that early in the spring has the advantage of seeing the impressive snow peaks surrounding the lake.
But I'm afraid it can still be quite cold there.
The red Turkish flag stands out clearly in this area.

A wonderful landscape with the snowy peak in the distance against the blue sky. The foreground was well included too, especially also with that Turkish flag at left.
