Underground cistern, a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Although many beautiful versions of this shot have been shared in TE before, I would like to show mine.
This is the Basilica Cistern, also called the Yerebatan Sarayı or Yerebatan Sarnıcı, is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that still lie beneath the city of Istanbul, former Constantinople, Turkey. It was built by the Greeks during the reign of emperor Justinianus in the 6th century.

This picture was taken handheld with an exposure of 2 sec.
This is a re-post, which is a cropped version of the original, and also has a frame.

Hello Jorge,
I have been many times into this building (as a tour guide and with friends), but I think that you captured specially well the ambiance and the majestuous aspect of this monuments.

Hi Jorge,
The repetitive patterns of the pillars and their reflection combined with the wonderful warm light make for a beautiful image. For a handheld shot the sharpness is very good in these low light conditions. Very well done!

you are right, about similar photos in TE but I have to say that this is a great one! The light management is very well done. I suppose that you had used a tripod. Thank you for sharing.
