Photographer's Note
This is the last posting of this series of photos, which depicts the world which is just on the other side of the stone pier, over-looking Jumeirah Beach and the Burj Al Arab Hotel. If you view my three previous postings from this day, you will see that I had included some lobster nets positioned on the stone pier with the famous 7-star hotal as a backdrop. In this image I am now standing in the small fishing harbour, which is hidden by the wall of sand and stone pier at the end of Jumeirah beach. Thses are the men who spend hours making new lobster nets which will be used to catch the delicious sea food......maybe the lobsters are even used to feed the rich, youngry tourists who enjoy the hospitality of the up-market hotel not far from where they sit.

hello, grant
a very interesting idea and a well composed shot. nice light and colors too. however, i am not sure, the photo is getting your story across. the whole scene just looks to jolly (due to colors and light) for the message you are telling. i cannot put my finger on a way to fix that. desaturating, using a lower POV and maybe accentuating the texture of the traps could be some possibilities to explore. hope yo do not mind my nitpicking here.
otherwise, a great shot and nice scene to share with us here.

Hi Grant,
Interesting shot, and the main subject here is still the architecture, without which this view is simply just plain ordinary.
I find that you have particularly captured the net quite well, as it is another interesting element. Well done. TFS

Hi Grant
What a contrast between these fisherman and their surrounds and the famous hotel. The composition is really interesting and the sharpness really good.

Grant,
a fantastic shot of this most famous and modern building of Dubai with some local ancient colorit with the fisherman certainly doing something their ancestors did for centuries.
Cheers, Peter

Salut Grant,
