Techniquely not a travel photo but I would like to go there someday, do you?

Taken with 2 x 2x doublers @200mm with the 10D giving an effective 1280mm. The shutter speed is actually 1/160s but it is not listed as part of the list on TE so I have to select 1/125s. The shot was done with mirror lockup and was triggered from a laptop to prevent camera's shake (it was quite a heavy rig :)) and at that focal length, any minor vibration would induce blurring.

I like how you off-centred it in the frame, still using the rule of thirds (the moon is a third down from the top, 2 thirds in from the left). How come there are no stars? Would they show up if you took a longer exposure (e.g. several seconds cf. 1/160th). I've never tried capturing the moon - didn't realise you could do it with such a brief exposure.

Excellent shot! You've managed to capture the moon extremely well - your exposure is spot on, and I like the composition as well! As a matter of interest did you convert it to B&W?

Great shot - the detail is amazing. I also like they way you composed the shot.
I have only tried to photograph the moon a couple of times, and either ended up with slight shake, or slight blur, and it is always too far away.

Yes, Cedar, you're right ! I would add that for me it also lacks monks and ao dais.
Though technically, I'd say that your fill in flash really worked great...

At first I thought this shot could be cropped at the left but then I realized that perhaps all the black really should be there, showing the dark, cold space. Well done!
