Photographer's Note

Hi everyone, here's another Fisheye view, but this time inside the Canadian Aviation Museum at Rockcliff Airport near Ottawa, Ontario.
I've joined two other pictures with different views of this DC-3 in the WS, the first one is also Fisheye and the second a normal view.

The DC-3 is one of the most famous airplane in the world, it made its beginning on July 2, 1933, establishing 19 world records quickly.

In the United States, the major airline companies did all the acquisition of the DC-2, a larger model and more rapid. Accomodated with enthousiame, the DC-3 passed quickly to the series production. It was the first transport aircraft whose exploitation made it possible to carry out benefit.

Since 1939, the world air traffic was mainly made up of DC-3. More than 800 airplanes were delivered to the airline companies throughout the world and more than 10 000 military aircrafts were useful during the Second World War.

In Canada, the military version C-47 made its entrance in 1943 for the royal aviation of Canada, while the DC-3 made its beginnings in the civil aviation in 1945 with Trans-Canada Airline, one year before the interruption of the production of this airplane.

After 50 years, a great number of DC-3 are still in service throughout the world and they will probably continue to still fly during several years. The plane on this photograph is the first plane that was bought by Trans-Canada Airline, its Canadian career lasted 38 years. After having been used for Good Year and Rubber company of Canada from 1948 to 1983, it was offered to the Canada Aviation museum.

Hope you enjoyed, feel free to add any comments on this beauty !
