Photographer's Note

The Two Brothers Totem Pole is located on the east side of Highway 16A, about 80 metres east of the Tourism Jasper Historical Building. Its geo coordinates are N, E, elevation 1,056 metres or 3,465 feet. This artwork is the creation of supremely skilled artists in woodwork from the island of Haida Gwaii, off the coast of British Columbia. It was raised July 16, 2011 - in the process replacing a totem pole that had long stood in this location. The totem pole is 13.7 metres in height - painted in the traditional Haida colours of red, black and blue. While this view is to the east, I cannot swear that the mountain in the background is or is not part of the Colin Range. It could be Signal Mountain at 2,278 metres or 7,476 feet. Those are railway freight cars in the lower background.
