Maligne Lake, a photo from Alberta, Prairies

Photographer's Note

Not the classic picture of Spirit Island on Maligne Lake. To get to this spot on Maligne Lake, one has to either hike half a day or take the boat cruise, which I did. We had, however, 10 minutes of shore time to snap pictures. The classic view seen in post cards and sovenir books is taken from a higher elevation. Nevertheless, I found this composition quite pleasing as well. I welcome your comment.

Hi Conrad. Reading your profile and looking at your pictures I wonder if you need any mentoring regarding picture taking skills. Your images are among the nicest I have seen of Canada in this gallery. Stunning quality and well crafted images that delight anyone who see them. I like this scene of Spirit Island. Hi Conrad:

A nice shot of Maligne Lake. You did a good job managing fairly unfavorable light. The image seems a little cluttered to me, but I can't quite put my finger on what's causing that illusion. Otherwise, I really like this shot.
