Photographer's Note
I took this photo while walking along the railroad tracks in St. Albert this past fall. Post corrections made include a slight contrast enhancement, and changing the photo from color to sepia toned in order to help give the photo a historic effect. In hindsight I think the compostion is a little weak, but I still enjoy it. (Any comments/suggestions welcomed)
Since 1992 there are only 4 grain elevators that remain in Alberta. Two of them are in St. Albert. These grain elevators have managed to avoid the wrecking ball, because they've been granted historical designation from the province. These particular grain elevators are no longer functional, but at some point in 2006 are rumoured to be opened to the public for touring through the Arts and Heritage Foundation of St. Albert.

Hi Rhonda,
Beautiful picture! I like the composition and the strong contrasts. Sepia tone makes a very good effect for that kind of scene. Well done! ... and welcome to TE!

This picture reminds me a landscape that stay printed in my mind when I saw the grain elevators the first time in Alberta. I thought it was a huge pint of milk. It a good choice to use sepia tone. TFS

Hi Rhonda, nice to see another shooter of St.Albert shots here on TE. :) Those grain elevators are a favorite spot of mine as well, and I like this "aged" shot of yours capturing both towers and the railway lines.

Hi. This looks great! The colors surely set the mood for this kind of scene.
