Always have been a fan of back-lighting...especially when I was still a film purest. Difficult to meter lighting and avoid flare...
This particular moss seems to like Spruce trees, and proliferates at elevations at 1500 meters ABSLVL or more. Makes for great fire-starter ,and a beacon for bears to raid a free meal...
Taken near an old Forestry look-out, abandoned since GPS and regional thermal-imaging...
