Photographer's Note
This is a live butterfly, which happened to land on my hand one evening. Luckily my camera was handy and I had to manually focus and frame it with one hand while trying not to scare the butterfly… One of those lucky moments.
The only adjustments I made was slight cropping and sharpened it a bit as it is scanned from a photo.

Nice shot! You were very lucky to have the camera to hand, and obviously careful to manage to take the picture without it flying away. However somewhere along the line the colours have suffered - to that end, I've posted a Workshop for you :-)

well captured it does take care to get a one handed shot,
I would appear that your scanning has let it down a bit, always scan in as best quality your system can stand without making it struggle, and do the necessary brightness, contrast, colour saturation, using burn tool on the anetae to darken them slightly. then unsharp mask.in what ever photo processing program you have.
