Photographer's Note

Sur ce site fut édifié,en 1904 par Guglielmo Marconi la première station radio maritime d’Amérique du Nord. En 1912 cette station servira lors du naufrage du Titanic, à la transmission des messages aux navires tentant de se porter au secours des naufragés. Cette station jouera aussi un rôle dans la surveillance radio des navires allemand, dans l'atlantique nord, lors de la première guerre mondiale. Et pour les anglais, le phare était mieux connu sous le nom de Fame-Point light.
Ce phare autrefois abandonné, avait été relocalisé en 1977 à Québec, sur le site de la Garde côtière canadienne près du Quartier Petit Champlain. Après environs 20 ans dans la ville de Québec et à cause des nombreuses protestations des gens de Pointe-à-la-Renommée, le phare fut rapatrié sur son site original en Gaspésie en 1997

La distance entre le phare et l'horizon donne de la profondeur à l'image. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du phare et des maisons. La qualité de la lumière embellit les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

An excellent capture of this historic set of buildings. I like the framing and the superb colour contrasts. One wonders why they bothered to move it in the first place. Rather bizarre!

Good contribution to the lighthouse theme, I'd like to see this "lamp" in the evening time in a blue hour, for example. Anyway, this is very interesting presentation of the 100 years old architecture, lighthouse has very positive and philosophic idea to help the people to find their way in the darkness.

Beautiful! I wouldn't mind living in this lighthouse with awesome view of the ocean. Good pov and dof with sharp details. The horizon is a little tilted otherwise well done, tfs.

The lighthouse looks freshly painted. The red really stands out against the blue sea and sky. Excellent clarity and a well framed image - I like the line of soft pink flowers in the FG.

Hello Sergio, There is nothing more eye catching as such an red object. The lighthouse standing on the hill do not need to be high, Nice red with white window. The building are also beautiful. Beautiful composition with some flowers in foreground.

This is a very striking lighthouse and you have captured it with excellent clarity for our enjoyment.

You had a difficult decision, whether to have it central or to crop one of the adjacent and have the lighthouse off-centre. As it is, I think it works perfectly well and helps us to understand the context of the whole.

I really like light houses. You did a marvelous capture of this Canadian one. Exelent POV showing it against the sea with neighbouring buildings. The colors are just great and the purple flowers botton are a fine detail.

Lovely place to work as lighthouse keeper. Beautiful setting on the hill above the water. Lighthouse has interesting steel design and is nicely preserved. Photo has great quality as well colors, light and sharpness.

Very eye catching work and the subject's vivid red is fantastic with more refined detail on the surrounding scene that you managed to salvage while still leaving the protagonist as the main topic. It's a cracking good image, sharp in detail and colours - a pic has everything one can hope for and more as it stands proudly against deep blue sky. Well done.
